Chuditch Glass Studio - Sonya Leong
After working for decades as a biologist, in 2012, she found a way to combine my love of nature with art after she obtained a stained glass artwork skills. Cutting and grinding glass, lacing the pieces together with copper foil or lead came was pure magic. After creating windows and door panels for her own house, she moved onto stunning suncatchers, unique jewellery and beautiful macrame arts. And, incorporating glasses are made from recycled and natural materials.
Chuditch Glass Studio is derived from a marsupial native to Western Australia, the Chuditch (Nyoongar name) or Western Quoll. Chuditch feeds on mammals, birds, small lizards, and bird or reptiles eggs. However, their main food source is crickets, spiders and scorpions. Previously abundant throughout Australia, they are now endangered.
