Bee-eaters (Birranga; Merops Ornatus). The bee-eater has green, blue, chestnut and yellow plumage, with distinctive streamers that extend from the end of its tail. They feed on insects including bees, cicadas and dragonflies and are found throughout Australia, migrating south for the summer to breed and returning north to over-winter in northern Australia, Indonesia and southern New Guinea. They nest in the ground in burrows.
These have been hand-drawn by me, printed and then mounted on a stainless steel cabochon. The earrings feature sterling silver plated lever back ear wires.
